Aimard, A mahr', GUSTAVE (1818-1883), a French novelist. He lived for ten years among the Indians of North America and wrote a number of stories dealing with Indian life, which have been popular in English translations. Among these may be mentioned The Arkansas Trappers, Lynch Law and The White Scalpers.
