Albany, ORE., the county-seat of Linn co., 58 mi. s. w. of Portland, on the Willamette River and on the Southern Pacific and other railroads. The river furnishes good water power and the manufactures include woolen goods, flour, furniture, wagons and brick. Grain and sandstone also are exported. Albany was settled in 1850 and incorporated in 1864. Population in 1910, about 4000; in 1990, 29,462.
