Amatitlan, ah mah teet lahn', a town in Central America, State of Guatemala, about 15 mi. s. of the city of Guatemala. It is a busy modern town, the inhabitants of which are actively engaged in the cochineal trade. There is a small lake of the same name close to the town. Population, 8408.
