Ap'palach'ico'la or Apalachicola, a river of the United States, formed by the Chattahoochee and Flint rivers, which unite near the northern border of Florida. It flows south through Florida for 100 miles, emptying into Appalachicola Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. It is navigable throughout.
