Au'burn, ME., the county-seat of Androscoggin co., 30 mi. s. w. of Augusta, on the Androscoggin River and on the Maine Central and Grand Trunk railroads. Water power is supplied by the river for the manufacturing of cotton goods, boots and shoes, furniture and leather. Lewiston Falls, Lake Auburn and Poland Springs are scenic points of interest. The place was settled in 1786. Population in 1910, 15,064.
