a city in Columbiana co., 40 mi. n. w. of Pittsburg, Pa., on the Ohio River and on the Pennsylvania railroad. It is supplied with natural gas and has extensive machine shops and glass factories, many china, porcelain and terra cotta works, and one of the largest potteries in the United States. The place was settled as early as 1795 and incorporated in 1834. Population in 1910, 20,387.
