in'g'l wood, a city in Bergen co., about 14 mi. n. by e. of Jersey City, on the Erie railroad. It is a residence place near the Hudson River, on the western slopes of the Palisades. There are summer homes for working girls, a hospital and a library association, but no manufactures. The village was incorporated in 1860, and the city was chartered in 1896. Population in 1910, 9924.
