ERIOPHYLLUM (from erion, wool, and phyllon, a leaf; woolly-leaved). ORD. Compositae. A genus of about a dozen species of mostly floccose herbs, rarely suffruticose (from Western North America), merged into Bahia by Bentham and Hooker. ERIOPHYLLUM caespitosum (B. R. 1137), perhaps the only species in cultivation, is identical with Bahia lanata (which see) and Actinella lanata.
