es dra e'lon, a plain extending across Palestine, from the Mediterranean to the Jordan, and drained by the river Kishon. It separates the mountain ranges of Galilee from those of Samaria. It is bounded on the west by Mount Carmel, on the north by the hills of Galilea and on the south-east by Gilboa. In this plain any contests, of both ancient and modern times, have been fought.
