gwah'vah, the popular name for certain small tropical trees with square branches, egg-shaped leaves and large white axillary flowers. The fruits are fleshy berries, which are usually apple-shaped or pear-shaped. The pulp is of an agreeable flavor, and a delicious and well-known jelly is made from it.
