Haggard, Henry Rider (1856-), an English novelist. He was educated for the law, but has devoted his time to literature and agriculture. She, The Witch's Head, Jess, King Solomon's Mines, Allan Quatermain, Beatrice, and Montezuma's Daughter, are the best known among his novels.
