raf fle'zhe a, a genus of parasitic plants found in the Philippine Islands, Sumatra and the Malay Archipelago. The flower is the only visible part of the plant and first appears as a swelling on the bark of the root. As it grows, it breaks through the bark and rises in the form of a cabbage head. This grows to a very large size, sometimes measuring as much as three feet in diameter and sometimes weighing fifteen pounds.
