GENUS CATOSTOMUS LE SUEUR Fine-scaled Suckers Sacramento Sucker Catostomus occidentalis Ayres Streams of California, especially abundant in the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. This species was formerly of considerable importance to the Indians, who caught it in great numbers. It reaches a foot in length.
